Basic Info

    Unlike most of the other places in the Solar System that are excellent places for colonies, Ceres is fairly close to the sun. What is Ceres? Ceres is a dwarf planet between Mars and Jupiter, in the asteroid belt. This colony is lucky, we are only 257 million miles from the sun. That sounds like a lot, but compared to distances from the sun to places like Europa and Titan, it is small. If you like the cold, you'll like this colony because the temprature ranges from -225.67 degrees fahrenheit to -99.67 degrees (-143.15 degrees Celsius to -73.15 degrees). If you hate the temprature ranges throughout the year you'like Ceres because Ceres has no seasons. Are you tried of tornadoes, thunderstorms, rainy days, and  hurricanes/tycoons on Earth? Then you're lucky, as Ceres has no weather either. Have you ever wished you could fly? Ceres would be the closest to that, as it has less than 3% of Earth's gravity. Get ready to leap up into the sky! We also have short 9 hour days.

                                 Neubulous' Purpose

              Our purpose is tourism because we are in a astroid belt and in between 2 planets. It will be a good place to take pictures.

                           What It Will Look Like

           We colony will be surronded by a big dome and the dome makes air. We will have forests and diffrent biomes you see on earth. We will harvest ice from underground to get water and for food we will have a farm where we will raise animals and grow fruits and vegetables.

                               The Trip to Ceres

      The colonists will get to Ceres from a rocket lanched by NASA. It will take only 6 months to get to Ceres using our new, powerful rocket ship with extra rockets that can snap off at anytime. The trips will be unusual if you're used to Earth. We will have to eat freeze-dried food, which has no water in it. You may like this kind of food if you like raisins. Drinking water will be pretty normal. In the rocket ship there will be air brought from Earth with plants to do photosynthesis. When we get there, NASA would have sent us materials to help us survive for the first few years.

Our Clever Ways of Surviving

      Luckily, Ceres has plenty of water, more than the freshwater on Earth. But this water is in the mantle and it is frozen. Also this water could not be safe to drink. You don't have to worry, miners will dig to get the ice and we will filter it. For food, we must bring plants and animals to help us. Of course we will have air and we will also have plants to recycle some oxygen.

Do you want to feel as light as a feather? Thank the low gravity on Ceres because if you weight 100 pounds now, when you land on Ceres you'll only weight 2.75 pounds! What an improvement! Do you want to feel young again? Go to Ceres as it is still reasonable! If you are 12 Earth years old, you'll be 3 Ceres Years old.
